I know it's a little convenient for me to do so, but I feel like I've been a reasonable arbiter of what I've liked and disliked about the Oilers organization over the last, I don't know, two decades or so.
And I actually think they've had a pretty good summer.
Yes, they're cap constrained.
And I think the ultimate wild card here is how this coaching situation shakes out.
And I know opinions greatly vary here.
And I think reasonably so.
I think that remains to be seen.
But I have to say, you know, the Oilers getting off Darnell Nurse and that contract and what it's going to be able to do for them.
Not just what it did this summer.
They were able to bring in, you know, they were able to flex in a little, you know, they bring in a guy like Dickinson.
They shut through shedding nurses contract.
They re up a couple of guys on, you know, one year and two years, smaller, thinner deals.
The point is they keep the depth in place by and large.
They get off a contract that was, you know, kind of like an anchor around their neck.
And, you know, I have to give the organization, the Oilers organization, credit.
Maybe it's partial credit.
You know, numbers guys get stuff wrong like every 15 minutes.
I'm the first one to acknowledge that.
I think the numbers community, though, had nurse pinned pretty early on.
