And a lot of the nation, like a lot of European nations were at war with Spain at this time.
Yeah.
So they would take a percentage of whatever they put in.
But yeah, I mean, for pirates is a pretty sweet deal because it's like they could, you know, legally unload their goods and the king would take a percentage.
But they could kind of just get up to their activity, whatever they wanted to do.
And it was a way for other European nations to kind of disrupt Spain's chokehold on the New World.
Yeah, they just got there very early.
They were getting there very early and kind of getting first dibs on... What were they trading?
Um, well, there were a lot of, like, things in New World.
Like, tobacco was a big one.
Honestly, a lot of the Spanish, they were just... I mean, they were just killing, you know, indigenous populations.
And a lot of, like, what they were getting from, like, South America was gold.
Like, they were just, like, Spanish treasure galleys.
They were just burning gold.
They were... Like, the governments were effectively pirates.
Like, everybody was pirates.
Yeah.
Like, everybody's stealing, but you're stealing from people who are stealing.
There is a moral argument for the fact because like obviously pirates, you know, are painted as like, oh, they're the bad guys.
They're attacking people.
