I mean, if we're talking normally about a hundred possessions per team in a game, no, that's not often.
This is not something I'm expecting to see all the time, but we've talked a lot about
a counterpunch that the Lakers need to be able to throw that the pick and roll while that is going to be the Lakers bread and butter and they are fantastic at it they're the best pick and roll team in the NBA they're one of the highest volume pick and roll teams in the NBA as well which makes sense because they're so good at it Luca his court vision is absolutely absurd and the way he reads the game out of that that's still going to be the foundation upon which your offense is built
But what we've seen is the Lakers sometimes struggle to have other actions to go to that really work out when the initial pick and roll doesn't work.
And they are a high-volume ISO team.
I do think when things break down, they can't ISO and sometimes not even ISO with the benefit of a switch.
And so you want to see other stuff for them, just some –
a different pitch in their arsenal to throw.
You want to have that curve ball.
You want to have that change up to throw at the opposing defense and running stuff for Luca off ball.
Well, he's not, I think the off ball player that LeBron is because the strength, the size, the speed, the physicality that LeBron can offer Luca being a threat off ball, I think is important just for the overall diversification of the Lakers offense.
So seeing this against the jazz, uh,
I thought it was a positive sign, and I'm going to try to pay attention to it for tonight's game against the Clippers because I would like to see more of this.
I would like to see more of Luka Offbaugh
um more opportunities for this when the the defense does start to get into a rhythm running against the lakers pick and roll so luca as an off-ball player again don't expect to see him off ball a ton right that that's not what you're going to do but i'd like to see more of that option as something the lakers sprinkle in every every now and then by the way another thing i'm going to keep an eye on tonight it's chris dunn you know chris dunn
