My airport badge was suspended for sixty seven days, and it's because I had poor training.
When Charlotte Airport Security reinstated my badge, they said that my employer, Prospect, gave me insufficient training.
For nearly seventy days I went without pay, my bills piled up, food was limited, and I had to fight for my life to survive.
Stories like mine happen when workers are overworked, understaffed, and being asked to fill gaps without proper training and the support that we actually need.
And when you add bottom of the barrel benefits and low pay that doesn't allow us to support our families, you have a recipe for disaster.
I love my job and helping people travel safely, but the airport workers at COT deserve better.

Can change things for the better.
Give the public forty five days to review the lease and require airlines and their contractors to publicly report their training and staffing data.
So we can improve airport services and stories like mine don't happen again.
