We're sort of programmed to want closure on things in our lives, aren't we?
And it's actually the question that I get asked the most whenever I do a keynote.
Are you still in touch with them?
It's almost always the first question that someone asks.
And I do feel regret about that.
And in any kind of team endeavour, particularly in a sporting environment, as you will know, the debrief is so important and in military environments as well.
And it's a real shame that we didn't ever do that.
But I think sometimes there are relationships in our lives that we also just need to walk away from.
And quite often you're never going to hear what you need to hear or want to hear.
And, you know, I also will freely accept that their experience may well have been different to mine.
I don't know how much self-awareness they had over how that played out for me.
There are a few indicators that there was some self-awareness.
But, you know, in the end, I sort of allowed so many parts of myself to become eroded through that process.
That experience, 60 days of constantly just biting my lip, letting things go, not speaking up.
And, you know, you know me fairly well, Gabby.
I'm not someone to sort of where I see injustice, I will speak up about it.
