So that's really how you really want to position yourself is really to earn that trust, is really show that you are a business partner.
that you are studying the finance function, that you understand what they're going through and that you're actively thinking and coming up with solutions for that.
So for me, especially in today's world, it starts before day one on the job.
Like you start earning the trust before day one on the job.
It starts even before the interview process because people will Google you or look you up on LinkedIn before that interview.
What will they see?
Will they see someone they can start trusting?
Will they see someone who knows what they're talking about?
If I Google you today, what will I see about you as a leader?
What is it that you're bringing to the table?
Because we're in such a digital world today, your expertise cannot just be what you can do at your own computer on a spreadsheet.
It has to be visible.
Because again, the board, everybody else will look you up.
So for example, when I joined ACE, they announced it
internally in an email.
And I could see on my LinkedIn profile that day how many people have visited my profile from that company.
Right.
And I was like, wow, like we don't realize.
And so when I started and I started, you know, having meetings in my first week, I sat down with, you know, the lead on our compliance was like, oh, I saw your post about this and this.
And we started talking about it.
