We all get 24 hours.
And as an executive, in that short amount of time, you have to make decisions that are going to impact a lot of people.
So how are you preparing yourself in your mind, in your body, and also your relationship to make sure that you get to what matters most quickly, that you understand the pros, the cons, and all that?
So to me, executive presence starts with that self-awareness.
Are you dealing with imposter syndrome?
Deal with that first.
Because if you were in a room, like if I was in a room with this guy I was talking about, it meant I belong to the room.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have been invited.
And because I belong to the room, I can also own the room.
I can also contribute in the room where I am.
So the first thing that usually blocks a lot of people in that imposter syndrome, because they see a guy like that, they think he's from Mars, he's a human being.
He's just another human being.
It's just that when he gets into a meeting, he's in beast mode.
He goes into beast mode.
Like, we're not here to, like, we may have a little chit-chat, but he goes straight to the point.
And then you can have lunch.
You can have all those things.
And so that really impacted me in how I think about executive presence.
And my number one thing for people is be around executives.
