I asked a CEO to be one of my mentors.

But you have to be around executives to really build that executive presence.

I wish there was a shortcut to it, but it's really being in those rooms.

I know we all were working remote.

We want to work remote.

But if going in the office will allow you to observe an executive up close, make that sacrifice.

Because that's really how it's going to elevate.

And I could see it when I had my final interview to become a CFO.

We had the first rounds virtually.

The last round, I was brought in with the founder in person.

They wanted that interview to be in person, even though I lived over an hour from the place.

It was in person.

They want to see how you're going to shake their hand, how you're going to react, how you're going to look at people.

Are you going to look at them in the eye?

All those things matter.

And so executive presence, it's really putting in the reps.

Whether it's your interaction with other executives at work or outside of work, it's all valuable.

But it's something you can learn.
