It was more uh structured and a lot more outlet passes than that comes from, you know, putting together a system and coaching and

is uh Paul b being a defenseman, giving his players the confidence to be able to make a play and move the puck.

So that was very noticeable.

Um the responsibility of the forwards uh

their commitment to defense was really evident the last

uh half of the season and into the playoffs they they took great pride in becoming a better defensive team.

And I think the other thing that

We don't

Doesn't get a lot of

sort of recognition or acknowledgement was it became more of a team.

Uh Connor and Leon were still playing quite a few minutes but

You know, the third and fourth lines you could see felt

More part of the hockey club.

They play with a lot more depth.

Uh consequently they weren't having to play cornerly on twenty seven minutes a night.

Um and when you have four lines going, everyone feels part of the team and it becomes a group that wants to pull for each other.

So for me it was very noticeable the last half of the season that they became more of a hockey club and not just a sort of one or two line hockey team.

Well, they're in a way better spot.

Uh there's no question about that.

First of all, their fan base is growing and the city of Edmonton is expanding.
