The oilers seem to get bigger and more popular each and every year and you know, the oiler fans can't get enough of watching their team play and that's why uh they take so much pride in bragging about the success of of their hockey club.
And as you said, uh as a as a player
You want the owner and management to have a commitment not not only to the team but to the city that you're trying to win a championship.
Uh, in this day and age
It's kind of all by the numbers.
Um, you know you know where Leon fits in in the pace scale, you know where the other guys sort of fit in.
Some guys will take a little bit less because they know they got a chance or an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup.
So that just shows you that the organization is something that players talk about throughout the league.
Um and
It's stabilized.
The franchise stabilized, uh it's strong, it's solid.
As is the entire National Hockey League right now.
I was telling a friend the other night at dinner
I can't remember the last time that you could sit there and say every single team in the National Hockey League is probably gonna be successful financially uh during the course of the year.
And that just shows you how much our game is growing and how much better the players are getting and how much more exciting the game itself is.
But players wanna play in teams and organizations that have management and ownership
that are committed to bringing a championship to to their city and
I look at Vinny Viola and what he went through all those years of drawing seven and eight thousand people and hanging in there and
putting together a good organization and now they've been to two Stanley Cup finals in a row.
So hopefully this is the year that the Oilers can go back, uh get to a Stanley Cup final.
