Oilers head coach Chris Knoblock, who joined us on yesterday's show, spoke today to the assembled media hoard, and was asked to define a good start to the season.
I don't think there's a specific number. Um obviously the first game's really important, but I don't know, we've got our segments that we've uh established and I guess we'll look at that first segment, but uh I don't know if there's a a a certain number.
All right, uh the Oiders of course last year started the year two nine and one. Knobloch went forty-six, eighteen and five, had the best record in the NHL since coming aboard as head coach of Edmonton back on November the twelfth of last season. Edmonton with the best goal differential as well. Oiders signing Travis Dermont yesterday. He came in on a PTO. Previously played with Chris Knobloch in Erie. And Knobloch had this to say when he was asked how much he envisions playing Dermot.
Well that'll be dictated on how well he's playing. And um, you know, he's performed very well and we'll see how he fits in with a team and most likely his partner, whether that's Stetcher or Dermot playing with Kulak, how well they play together. Um but um I think he'll be playing regularly. You know, probably a guideline be fifty percent of the games and you know if he's playing really well or poorly or Stetcher's playing really well, they'll dictate how many games they'll play.
