Yes, I think retirement planning is part of every good, sound financial plan.
And everybody has a financial plan, regardless of whether you pay any attention or not.
Everybody has a financial plan.
So no matter what age you're at now...
have one eye on the exit.
Have one eye on what am I on track for here in my retirement?
Because everybody who is younger, anybody kind of early 40s or younger than that now, are looking at the bulk of their NHS pension income coming in at age 68.
So that's one question just to ask yourself right now.
Do I want to retire at 68 or do I want to retire before then?
And if the answer is, I want to retire before then because I am not working to age 68, then you have a problem and you need to look at that, consider that, do something about it now.
Because the sooner you do it...
the less painful it is to sort that out.
And it's not about giving up other stuff to prepare for retirement.
Nobody wants to not live.
It's about making sure that you have done all you can do to plan for what's coming.
That's a good question.
If you contact the admin centres direct, whether you're in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, then they are as pretty much as overwhelmed as you are currently.
And it's very difficult to get any information from them.
So I would encourage everybody to make sure that you've saved any and all pension statements that you've had previously.
Because the one thing that they can do is drive some projections for you so that you've got a general idea of the direction that you're going in.
