So I'm going to do that.
Please don't do that because everybody's very unique.
Your pension is as unique as you are because nobody else has the same pensionable earnings or service in the pension scheme as you have.
You are unique.
It needs to be a decision that's right for you and it won't necessarily be the same decision as anybody else.
And what's right for somebody else will not necessarily be right for you.
So the rule is, going forward, you make your McLeod choice when you access your NHS pension benefits for the first time.
But because the admin service centres are so overwhelmed,
They are not on top of that.
And so is the situation at the moment where you're requesting your pension benefits and you're not necessarily getting to make your McLeod choice.
Now, for GP partners, you're kind of used to not having finalised benefits anyway for the first 18 months, because, of course, we've got that final year of accounts to come in and that final year of accounts will drive our final year's pensionable benefits.
service and our final year's worth of pension and so there has always been historically an adjustment made for retired GP partners about a year to two years into the retirement so that side of it's not new but obviously of course the McLeod thing is a big thing it does mean that we have
GPs out there who are retired and who still have to make that McLeod choice.
But remember, currently, everybody has been defaulted back to the legacy scheme.
And so the chances are for people who are retiring nearer 60, the chances are the McLeod choice won't make any difference.
So I don't want anybody who's 60-ish and retired and not made a McLeod choice to panic about that.
It's those who have taken their benefits and are working on
that actually the choice becomes a little bit more woolly.
Sometimes a 2015 scheme for that seven year period would be better.
And so it depends on lots of things like how much tax free cash do you want?
