How much income do you need?

Because actually the income in the 2015 scheme builds faster.

than in the 1995 scheme.

And that's to do with things like not having your automatic tax-free cash from it.

So it does become a bit more of a problem the later you want to retire and a bit more critical that you make the right decision.

I think it makes an already stressed and stressful profession

much more stressful it makes making decisions around retirement more complicated more difficult and more stressful it kind of means you're going in a little bit blind and that's a really difficult situation to be faced with as a doctor and it might mean that sometimes doctors are saying right I'm just going to go

because I can't deal with this because I've got this patient workload and I'm doing full-time sessions, which, you know, these days tend to be kind of seven or eight sessions a week, doesn't it?

I don't have the capacity to be able to deal with this, so I just need to go so that I can then deal with it.

So it is pushing people to make decisions that maybe are...

a little bit not thought through enough because they don't have the capacity to think about it and to make those decisions properly.

And again, that's where really good financial advice comes in.

You're there as a GP for your patients, have a financial advisor who's there to look out for you and to make sure that you're making the right decisions about your numbers.

I would like people to please don't panic is the first thing, but also please don't make any decisions on your own.

Please don't go ahead and make a decision and think, oh, well, it will be fine.

Go and speak to a financial advisor who knows about the NHS pension.

and get some help and get somebody to sense check your plans.

Always, always, always start with the end in mind and look at, right, okay, what do I want?

And then look at how can I do that?

And you do need help for that.
