And the reason it connects to the idea of the sensitivity and all, I found the language that was natural to my soul, which was mythology.
I just immersed in those stories.
To me, it wasn't history I was looking for.
It was mystery I was looking for.
And that was the realm of mystery.
But also, they were the mysteries that explained what was going on.
I got insights that now I understand were psychological as well as mythological.
And I was now seeing the neighborhood and my parents and the family and the country through mythological lens.
And so that was an amazing thing for me.
And it really changed my life.
But the same thing happened when I told my parents what I was now interested in.
They just shook their heads like, what are you talking about?
Go to school.
learn what they're teaching.
When I told teachers, they would just say, that makes no sense.
So I had this thing that I knew was a language, my language or the language that spoke to me.
But everyone around me thought that it made no sense.
So it made it much more difficult for me to eventually figure out, no, this is actually a calling.
that this kind of imagination, this kind of language is calling to me.
But I was probably in my early 30s before I understood that this was a real path in life, not a hobby and not even an avocation, but a genuine vocation.
