And a hallmark of those six performances have been, like, really airstream passages of play, compounding mistakes...
And just a sense of, like, not really being in the game in a meaningful way, maybe the two November New Zealand games aside, but certainly today, the two games against France and South Africa game, Ireland have been heavily beaten.
Like the errors today, you look at, like, you know, Gibson Park throwing a ball into touch uncharacteristically, like McCluskey putting the ball on the ground for that Will Jordan gift.
You know, Sam Prendergast offloading it in the touch.
James Ryan dropping the ball in the 22.
He's had a few bad drops in the summer.
Like those kind of cheap offside penalties when they're defending, when they look like to be defending kind of comfortably.
These errors are popping up again and again and again.
And it just feeds a sense I have that whenever they've had to step up in the last two years and play one of the big three, they're just not really close to beating them.
And they seem kind of stranded in this kind of middle ground of maybe being better than the teams below them, but being a fair bit off the teams above them.
And I never really thought they were in the game today, to be honest.

to win the game so look overall it's a very disappointing night the game was over at halftime it actually really reminded me of like when i was a teenager and i'd get up on an early saturday morning and turn on sky sports and watch a new zealand ireland game and there would be like a distinct gap between the teams like that it's funny because the two november games really felt like to me like a clash of equals that new zealand won in the final quarter
Whereas today, I thought, to your point about New Zealand moved the ball through Ireland so easily.
Ireland were able to scramble pretty well.
But New Zealand, the way they were able to match up the pitch with just some kind of fairly basic and sharp handling was jarring.
For me, there felt like a pretty distinct gap between the teams compared to the November fixtures.
