Anytime I'm talking to a younger person, I don't want to assume, but Will Rogers was a humorist from Oklahoma.

He's one of my idols because he just had an incredible outlook on

rural America and had its pulse.

He had a quote.

Somebody asked him once, a reporter did in Oklahoma City or Tulsa.

They said, Will, how does the average rural man learn?

He said, well, some learn by reading and there are a few who learn by observation and the rest of them just have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

There's a lot of that going on right now.

Yes, I'm frustrated because

Having experienced what I did, May, at an early age, I try to view life and I try to view policy and I try to view government through that lens of how it impacts regular people.

And I get frustrated.

I do get frustrated with my people here in rural America that they don't all view life and policy through that same prison.

And I also get frustrated that they don't think through to the end.

Like, I can guarantee you, May, and I only say this because I live here with these folks and I talk to them every day.

They really believed the president when he said he was just going to export the criminals out of this country.

They really believed the president when he said these tariffs are going to bring manufacturing back to the United States.

Now, I say that.

Don't put my face on Mount Rushmore, because on election night, I told my boys, I said, well, I guess we're all going to have to be eating out of trash cans before our people here in rural America die.

You know, get it.
