Citizens who still believe in the truth and dignity. The government of the United States of America has shut down, not because, I mean, we didn't run out of money. As I told you yesterday, we are a rich country.
We have a lot of money. It's just how we allocate it. And then there are a lot of folks who want to hang on to their money. and become billionaires and trillionaires. So we are closed down the government, not because the people failed, not because we ran out of money, but because the men in power decided that our lives, that your paychecks, that your healthcare, that your safety were bargaining chips in this game of vengeance and one-upsmanship. Speaking of that, The personification of that is Donald Trump and his enablers in Congress. They have walked us right into this shutdown like it was a planned detour. They didn't stumble into it. I mean, they caused it. They engineered it. Right. So they wanted this because chaos is the only oxygen that this administration really knows, like how to breathe.
Right. That's their oxygen. division, one-upsmanship, owning the libs. So let's be really clear about this. It's not about fiscal responsibility, because they've been lying so much about what it's about, because if it was about fiscal responsibility, they would not be giving tax cuts, so many tax cuts to the very wealthy. It's not about balancing the budget or cutting waste. Remember how much Donald Trump has contributed to the national debt, to the deficit of It's not about balancing budgets. It's not about cutting waste. If it were, then they would not be handing out tax giveaways to the billionaires. Wow, right? Then furloughing the very workers who keep us going. The people who keep us safe every day.
Keep us fed. They keep us functioning every like the farmers, we're gonna get to that. No, this is about power, it's about control, it's about punishment. So right now, nearly half of health and human services workforce is being sent home. The cybersecurity agency, the one that keeps foreign adversaries from shutting down our hospitals, our banks, our water systems, that's been gutted to skeleton crew levels. So I don't know if that's cutting the fat. That's really cutting into the bone. Is this doge all over again? Like for what? What? So and yet Social Security still pays out. Medicare still runs. Transportation Safety Administration, the TSA, the agents there, they're still at the airport, but they're working without pay.
Now, imagine going into your job and they're like, yeah, we're going to work today, but then we're not going to pay you. And who knows when they'll get a check? Federal employees, mothers, fathers, veterans showing up to protect this nation while the men who sit in Congress refuse to protect them. Now, this shutdown, it's not just a budget fight, okay?
