How is electricity potentially tied up in that?

Now that we've covered some of the science, plants seem to store memory somewhere.

They are

In communication with the world around them through chemistry, so to speak.

They use electric signaling within their body to transmit information, can be rendered unconscious, maybe have some way of seeing, who knows?

So where are you at in this with this question of are plants intelligent?

Can we consider them intelligent?

Telegent, can we consider them conscious?

I wanna revisit this idea of plants not having a brain, right?

And this being kind of a continuous part of the debate.

You bring up this idea that, well, what if the whole plant is a brain?

Sure.

Can you speak a little bit to that?

Makes me think I I heard Merlin Sheldrake, uh the mycologist once say that maybe this isn't so much about trying to bring in his case, fungi into the world of humans, but what does it look like for us to go a little bit more into the world of fungi?

And I'm curious how you think about that in relationship to the plant world.

You make a really brilliant point in the book, too, around hoping that science can have faith in the public imagination, that we're able to hold.

Okay, we're not saying plants are human, right?

We're not saying that they're like us in that sense.

And can we hold at the same time?

But that doesn't mean that there are any less intelligent, for example.
