But having said that, it helped me gain, I guess, character.

Then many things do go your way.

I think at the start of my first-class career, I remember playing against Barbados in a pinball game.

That's when I debuted, scored 70-odd, won the game for Trinidad.

So it was just a start.

I think my expectations were really high.

But playing professional sport, bowlers figure you out, teams plan for you.

I probably plateaued a bit in my early 20s playing first class cricket.

I was not at my peak at all, but obviously that was a disappointment for me as I felt as though I was a bit stagnant.

I think I was probably overthinking things.

Obviously I had expectations and goals for myself that I probably wasn't meeting.

But I guess that's sport, man.

You go through so many disappointments.

Yeah, I always say at the time it feels as though the whole world is falling apart and you're not going to do this and you're not going to do that.

But I think everything happens in its own time and once you do the work,

You put in the work and put in those hard yards.

I feel as though that you will be rewarded.

It may not be in the timing that you want it to be, but I think it happens in a matter of time.

You just have to keep putting in the work until the end of the day.
