And when we're thinking about the situation that Penny was talking about, where suddenly there's multiple people in the room trying to get consent from a patient at that point, the optics of that, right?
There is several professionals, clinicians.
It can really feel overwhelming.
To feel as though you are having your choice taken away from you and you you have to be steered in a particular direction.
And that you don't necessarily have any other options.
But
When communication is clear and calm, and Penny talked about particularly in stressful, high stress uh situations, despite sort of managing all these competing demands, being able to have that conversation with that woman.
So saying
This is what's happening.
This is what we need to do right now.
That's such an important piece.
Because I think what that reminds the patient is that
I'm still here.
I'm still invested in this process with you.
It's I'm still invested in this partnership of us delivering this baby safely together.
And I think particularly where
Things aren't necessarily going right.
It just helps to demonstrate that commitment from the clinician that you are still working towards a shared goal.
