I absolutely love that.
Because it is, it's you feel incredibly vulnerable.
And in that moment, there are several different people in the room.
You feel even more exposed.
Um, and so who needs to be in the room at that point?
And is it necessary for for them to be present whilst a particular uh examination is happening?
But
Really, also something that I think is important about providing that information and making sure that the support person is present.
Because sometimes you're in a sea full of unfamiliar faces, you look for that one familiar face.
And that support person becomes pivotal to perhaps minimizing some of the damage.
damage that might occur because of the high stress.
And also really thinking about
um that clear communication as much as possible.
Of course, there aren't necessarily always opportunities to go into lengthy conversations about um what's happening in the moment, but it is it's about when that opportunity presents, being able to say, This is what's going on, this is what's happening.
helps a a patient to feel that they're still involved, that
in that partnership, they are a valued and equal partner as opposed to somebody who is occasionally given permission, that they are at the center of the their care.
Um and I think it's just also for in terms of
trying to minimize the traumatic experience for the patient.
