So earlier, I think I don't remember if it was Penny or Deb who talked about the clinician's own anxieties.
So it's a high stress environment.
It's a high stress environment, right?
So everybody's highly anxious.
What's our body language saying to the patient?
And so even when we are providing those choices, um, are we doing so?
But with an inclination towards a particular choice, are we still really saying these are all your options and any one of them is okay?
Or are we starting to say, yeah, uh, in my clinical experience, this is what this looks like?
Um, and is that being interpreted as this is the decision that I want you to make?
Um
And I think those things really
Help patients to um to feel heard.
Um and
we're really just uh thinking about particularly in emergency situations where um like I I said earlier, having those lengthy conversations can be can be difficult.
Just being able to um
To actually
provide a bit more information where you have those micro moments to do so, but also being honest, because the relational piece we talked about earlier on and I continue to emphasize is about that honesty.
It's about saying
fully appreciate this might be the decision that you're making.
The reason, um, you know, I I think that might not be the best choice is for these particular reasons and pegging it at where the patient is at, the research tells us, you know, these are the uh potential consequences of that decision.
