I think my injury level was C3, which usually means death, like instant death.
Walking again was out of the question.
Surviving was very much in doubt.
And when we were in the hospital at Freighter, I got there, and now it was Friday.
And it was kind of just a lot of waiting around now.
Like, there was...
a lot of water in my lungs, which caused infections.
They obviously had me pretty sedated.
They started me on fentanyl.
At that time, they were using dopamine IVs for trauma patients to spike blood pressure so that
your heart rate stays elevated and you don't, you basically just survive.
I think there's a different type of drug they use for it now, but I just found out I requested all my medical records a few months ago to just kind of try to figure out like, what are all the drugs that I was on?
I knew about the fentanyl, obviously that was a year of fentanyl, hydromorphone, the tramadol, hydrocodone,
a whole ton of benzodiazepines, the worst of which is a drug called Versed, that they basically just give you, it's like a really powerful Xanax, but it is really just meant to make you not remember what's happening from the traumatic experience.
And that was, that drug I did not like.
Obviously the fentanyl I liked a lot.
I was on a dose that was really not like, oh, he's in pain.
We need to give him something to help with that.
