not as distraught as i would have expected which gave me comfort just like you know that he was able to like be there and watch that which like i wouldn't be able to do i was like okay we can maybe we're making progress like maybe this is something that can be fixed but that's when the pain like the actual physical pain started to set in and actually it was more just like a soreness i think
Like, me, like, laying flat on my back the entire time because this was several hours in.
And, you know, I couldn't reposition myself naturally.
So, like, I just remember my glute was, like, super sore probably from so much pressure being on it consistently.
And, you know, I asked, like, my aunt to just, like, rub, like, that part.
Like, because it was, like, that was, like, the biggest point of discomfort for me.
We were still waiting for my parents to arrive, my brother, my other brother, a lot of people coming up from Chicago.
And they wanted to airlift me to Milwaukee, a hospital called the Freighter.
It's actually one of the top spinal cord surgery centers in the country.
The storms made that impossible.
So I was put into another ambulance and driven there.
my dad showed up at that emergency room before.
So immediately had to leave again to Milwaukee, which was at least another hour away.
And it was, it wasn't just a storm.
It was a really, really bad rain event.
And then having to do that, it was, it almost felt, I can imagine at least like biblical, like with just like the storms coming down and like,
it's just probably felt almost destined like to happen that night.
It was like, there's a storm happening in more ways than one, at least in our lives.
And we finally made it to Milwaukee.
