or Tavares?
I like the Tavares contract, but is it just more of the same incoming?
Because let's be fair.
I mean, they've changed around the core before and it's never truly worked out.
So why should this time be any different?
Like it's so easy to play devil's advocate.
I know people on my show today were calling me a bit of a pessimist on Radish, but I think it's fair to assess the risk involved in these type of decisions.
I wonder if Colby's a Yogi Berra guy because that sounds like a Yogi-ism if I've ever heard one in my life.
Yeah, I don't know.
I think coaching's so hard, right?
Because you've got to get that belief and instill it and the guys have to play for you.
Even watching this past season, I'll die on the hill to quote from a decade ago and the whole lockout in this world.
I'll die on the hill that the Maple Leafs were better than that record and were good enough to at the very least make the Stanley Cup playoffs.
But quite frankly, they gave up on their coach and they did not want to play that style and that brand that brought them success
the year prior the goaltending wasn't there and just never got going so um while hiller i'm curious to see what he looks like and i i think the one of the big keys clearly is trying to find a way to get austin matthews back to that guy i understand that as you get older you're not going to flirt with 70 goals every year but be like a prolific threat i think there's been way way too many shifts in the last two years specifically under barubi where
you don't even notice Austin Matthews, which is quite alarming.
So it's about cohesion, getting everybody on the same page.
And I think the one thing that really stuck out watching the Stanley Cup playoffs as in-depthly as I did was the speed game.
That's been the major takeaway from the Leafs the last couple of years, how slow and lethargic they look, specifically this past season.
And it sounds like they want to change that and play sort of a speedier type game under Jim Hiller.
