You know, I think all the spring hype that was kind of around him is kind of real as far as his work ethic and how he approaches his day-to-day routine.
I think that would transfer over.
really well if he shows up into the big leagues and just for him to kind of continue uh being being who he is i think he's kind of less obvious for for playing time as far as ultimately you know you you look at the guys who they are likely to trade and that being george springer don't bar show and you know that doesn't necessarily open up any time for josh kasovich but i i you know i think as a right-handed bat um you could certainly get him up and kind of see what he's got sliding around the infield a little bit
I think you look at Jay Harry and RJ Shrek, you know, a pair of other guys who haven't been up yet.
Both of them are hurt right now.
You know, Shrek is on the 60 IL.
Jay Harry left Wednesday's game in Buffalo and hasn't been back in the lineup yet.
So that's a couple of guys to watch.
And then I think kind of the guys who have been up already, you know, Keys, McAdoo, those are also a pair of guys that you wouldn't hate to get some more playing time to, but they kind of fall into the same bucket, I think, as Kasavich, where they're infielders and forwards.
there isn't necessarily going to be that clear line to playing time depending on who they ultimately end up selling.
I think another guy who would be interesting, you know, if they end up trading away, say Varshow and, you know, Milestraw, obviously with the team option, if that's a guy that maybe they do decide to move on from at the deadline, if somebody's kind of looking for that speed and defense off their bench, you know, Ismail Mungia has been interesting.
has been really incredible he's riding a 13 game on on base streak of his own i think he has a really interesting profile as a really good defender uh he has a whiff rate that that's below 10 and has pretty good discipline so i i think he's a guy kind of you know sneaky down the depth chart a little bit that maybe they they would take a look at just being as um you know not a potential future starter at the big league level but maybe as a guy who could kind of fill that miles straw role in the future as a fourth outfielder type that can give you some speed and defense off the bench
Yeah, I think it opens up a really big spot in the outfield when you look towards what the potential 2027 lineup would be.
I think that Barger is all of a sudden the guy that you're not kind of counting on being there on opening day.
Maybe he does undergo the internal brace and he's able to get back a little bit sooner overall.
But I think ultimately when you kind of look at his profile and some of the guys that they have on the roster right now, like he would have been a really nice piece to kind of slot back in there in right fields for the start of 2027.
So, you know, I think it changes the calculus a little bit as far as what they're looking for, be it at this deadline, be it in the offseason, as far as, you know, kind of planning.
And, you know, I think you look at that.
as this piece that, you know, if he comes back in 2027, gives you something that that's almost a bonus rather than kind of slotting him in and penciling him in to kind of be, you know, back in a key contributor right from the word go next year.
So, you know, really unfortunate for him to only end up with nine games this season and, you know, just one hit.
