what other queer people are going to think about me, what other straight people are going to think about me.
I just need to think about my seven-year-old self and the way she was and be honest and true to myself.
And as long as I'm doing that, then I'm on the right track.
Yeah, before I knew any of the labels or the this or the rules or the that.
Like, yeah, what did I... What's just like my way of going through the world?
And if I can do that as like honestly as possible, then I also can't really worry that much about that like ruffling other people's feathers because like everyone, you know, most of the time when we do things, it's not actually about like us.
It's about...
you know, other people like project things onto that or, you know, they're allowed to have their own feelings.
And I think like getting older has also been for me a lot of being like, oh, not everyone has to like me or the way that I am or the way that I do my thing, but I have to like it.
And so that's actually like my barometer for like,
queerness for like the way I make my art for the way I go through the world like everything that's that's really helped me like accept myself and you know I think like in my early 20s I I still was like even when I was like oh I'm saying I'm queer I still felt so kind of like insecure about that yeah I was gonna ask kind of what that unfolding looked like
Yeah, it definitely... I feel like I was kind of whispering it.
I was like, okay, I've admitted it to myself, but I also...
you know, I don't want to take up too much space necessarily.
And I think the older I've gotten and then also just the more experience that I've had, I've never had like a serious girlfriend, but I have been like having a lot of fun just like being part of the queer community, like going on dates with people, getting to know people and like exploring also the other parts of like
Queerness that don't have to do directly with, you know, like dating and sex.
I feel like the more that I do that, the more comfortable I am in claiming it and also like continuing to feel in my own self like, oh yeah, this is me.
Like I get in a room of queer people.
I'm like, oh yeah, these are my people.
You know, like you feel it.
