I mean I think undoubtedly he'll have to set out some plans pretty soon not least because you have the press going into absolute meltdown every single Saturday and Sunday particularly in their Sunday editions of

I mean, that is going to go on and on and on, basically, until he tells people what he's going to do.

There was some suggestion that there's going to be a big, almost emergency autumn budget where he's going to set out some tax and spend plans.

But as we said in the last episode, he's kind of boxed himself in.

because he says he's not going to move away from manifesto pledges.

So he can't really announce sweeping tax rises.

I mean, there's some things he can do.

He could maybe do something with capital gains, maybe something with devolution and council tax.

There are tweaks he can do, but it's going to be hard for him to do anything radical that departs too much from the manifesto pledges.

The other suggestion was he might spend the summer

touring round the UK, going particularly to areas where Labour has lost support, whether that be over the last year or two or whether it goes further back than that, and asking voters, you know, what is it?

What do you want?

Using that time to reconnect with voters and to then come back in September around Labour Party conference with a big speech, a big story about what he wants to do for the country.

And I think that actually might...

be quite a good idea.

You know, there is a danger of moving too quickly.
