Keir Starmer's swan song on the world stage is in full swing in Ankara, where the NATO leaders have come together for their annual summit at a make-or-break moment for the alliance.
The war in Ukraine, the ongoing conflict with Iran and US troop withdrawals in Europe are all on the agenda, as are questions about the future of NATO itself.
But another core issue here is the ever-unpredictable Donald Trump, who has spent most of this year pretty much doing whatever he likes, from eyeing up a Greenland annexation, to denouncing allies for their defence underspending, to picking fights with everyone from Starmer to Carney to Maloney, and cracking on with his attack on Iran without consulting European leaders.
In his opening speech at the summit, NATO Secretary General Mark Reuter warned that we must remain vigilant against countries like Russia, China and North Korea that are working together, which, and I quote, should concern us all because they do not have our best interests in mind.
