Adam Carolla Show

ACS: Jim Florentine

01 Mar 2011

Description

Adam's excited about both of tonight's guests. Calling in later is baseball legend Dave Bresnahan; a minor league catcher who threw a potato in the middle of a game to trick the runner. Adam recalls watching it happen on The Sports Machine, and goes on a jag about the host, George Michael. After Alison runs through the new Dancing with the Stars lineup, Adam takes Dave's call. They chat about how Dave originally came up with the idea, and how he was able to successfully execute it. They also talk about the immediate aftermath of the stunt, and Adam calls him a baseball hero. Comedian Jim Florentine comes to the show next, and Adam plays a hilarious Crank Yankers clip that featured Jim's belching character, Bobby Fletcher. Adam also talks to Jim about how he was discovered, and the guys give tips for making great prank calls. Adam then dives into Jim's background, finding out more about his time dating Robin Quivers, and what he did prior to getting his break and doing stand-up. Later, Adam shares his own thoughts on performing stand-up, and the guys explain the definition of hate-fucking to Alison. Alison picks back up with the news, mostly focusing on the most recent Charlie Sheen antics. Adam and Jim also exchange Rodney Dangerfield stories, and Alison wraps up the show with a post-Oscar news story about how The King's Speech is helping to raise awareness about stuttering.
