Thank you so much for having me. Um, I'm just so excited to be here and I I I think our interests are very aligned and I'm excited to see where this this time goes.
Me too. I'm thrilled to have found you. Thank you for coming on the show. Yeah.
Thank you as well.
Tell us a little bit about your background professionally. What Who are you? What do you do?
Yeah, so I'm Carla. No. Um, so I definitely am an I'm an educator. So I've been an educator for over two decades, teacher, assistant, principal, professor, uh, everything academia. And um I recently shifted a couple of years ago into my own business. And the reason for that was because I kept seeing the same concerns, uh literally across my desk. I would have kids there anxious, overwhelmed, um, you know, uh making poor decisions. Um you know, not trusting themselves, not knowing who they are, you know, everything that comes with being a teenager and It I could help them a little bit, but I couldn't really dig down to the root cause of what was going on to support them. Same with families. There was, you know, miscommunication, disconnection, all these things.
And Um I just knew there was more that I could do for families and more to support them at a at a core level versus the kind of band aids I was putting on. the situations. Um so that's when I moved into um coaching full time. Yeah, and yeah, it's been amazing and I've been able to see so many people transform. It's fantastic.
Congratulations on making the shift and and creating your practice. I think there is a real niche for The kind of sanity that you bring to you know what we think of as today's world of high stakes, high pressure performance. Uh But before we go there. I wanna know if you would be willing to tell us a little bit about your life story because this is personal for you, right? Um now I'm gonna share with you that I would never be mistaken for an athlete. I am uncoordinated. I was the chubby girl. I was actually kind of the fat girl in gym class. Um and I have absolutely no athletic ability and just nothing. So I I am not going to intuitively um understand your story, but there are a lot of people out there who are.
So tell us about being an athlete and kind of what your personal background is with with the work that you're doing now.
Got it, got it. And and Noreen, to your point, um, yes, I I was an athlete and I work with a lot of athletes. I also have I also kind of think of it as like performance based because I have dancers, I have um, you know, those that play an instrument and a band and Um all different types of kids. And it comes down to like the to that performance, whether it's the game or the recital. Um, and so be it. For me, it was I was a dancer for about nine years through elementary and middle school and then uh kind of shifted to athletics.
