We are pleased to introduce to you the second episode of our private debt podcast series focussing on regulatory requirement for loan funds. Loan origination funds are one of the key topics addressed by the brand new AIFMD review proposal, which has been published on 25 November 2021. Pursuant to the new draft, AIFMs will benefit from a European passport for performing loan origination activities, subject to compliance with certain regulatory requirements. Francis Kass, Partner at Arendt & Medernach and Claude Niedner, Chairman and Partner at Arendt & Medernach are joined by Nicholas Smith, Director at AIMA βs private credit affiliate ACC to discuss the background of the proposed AIFMD review and its expected impact on loan origination funds.
