Attention Talk Radio

Inattentive ADHD, or Sluggish Cognitive Tempo, Clarified

23 Oct 2014

Description

In this episode of Attention Talk Radio, we interview Dr. Russell Barkley (http://russellbarkley.org) around the research suggesting there is a new attentional disorder called sluggish cognitive tempo (SCT), also known as concentration deficit disorder (CDD). Dr. Barkley enlightens us on the disorder, how it differs from ADD, and how that many diagnosed with what DSM used to define as inattentive ADD might actually be SCT/CDD. This is important, as differences in diagnosis respond to very different treatments. If you have been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD or know somebody who is, this is interview could impact the treatment and support of the condition. Attention Talk Radio is the leading site for self-help Internet radio shows focusing on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD), including managing symptoms of attention deficit disorder, adults with ADD, or adults who have children with ADHD. Attention Talk Radio, hosted by attention coach Jeff Copper, is designed to help adults and children (particularly those diagnosed with or impacted by attention deficit disorder or its symptoms) in life or business who are stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated. It will help adults and children get unstuck and moving forward by opening their minds to pay attention to what works. Attention Talk Radio host Jeff Copper is an ADHD coach.
