What happened in the latest ICE shooting incident?
Good morning, Karen. It happened yesterday afternoon during what the Department of Homeland Security called a targeted stop of a vehicle carrying two people in southeast Portland. A federal agent opened fire, hitting and wounding both occupants. The Department of Homeland Security said the driver, quote, weaponized the vehicle. Keith Wilson is the mayor of Portland.
We're calling on ICE to halt all operations in Portland until a full and independent investigation can take place.
The Portland shooting occurred a day after an ICE officer shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis. That case is being complicated by clashes between federal and local officials. The Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, told local officials, federal officials are in charge.
They have not been cut out. They don't have any jurisdiction in this investigation.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says it's a decisive victory for the American people.

Russia carried out a strike near Ukraine's western border with an intermediate-range ballistic missile known as Orshnik. The unusual strike with the new nuclear-capable missile was a reminder of Moscow's readiness to brandish some of its most powerful weapons in the war, even as President Trump presses his effort to bring an end to the conflict.
Iran restricted Internet and phone access overnight to quell escalating protests across the country. This as Iran's Supreme Leader warned that he won't back down against the demonstrators. President Trump directing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to purchase $200 billion in mortgage bonds to bring down housing costs.
