News when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Monica Ricks. More than 180 million Americans from Texas to Massachusetts are now on the path of a potentially catastrophic winter storm this weekend. Bloomberg meteorologist Craig Allen is tracking it.
The various weather models continue to show a solid 6 to 12 inches of snow from D.C. to New York City and on up to Boston. The snow is going to fall heavily. It'll accumulate rapidly. But there are still small details with big impacts that need to be worked out. Like where there may be a change to sleet or freezing rain. It would most likely be south of 78 in New Jersey and then down 95.
This will lower snowfall amounts but bring the threat of major icing.
meteorologist Craig Allen. Stephanie Fox is with the Red Cross and is urging folks to prepare.

Chapter 2: What is the impact of the winter storm on the U.S.?
Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are set to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel today after the launch of the Board of Peace to oversee post-war Gaza. Netanyahu's office confirmed the meeting but didn't provide a specific time. The weekend duties are typically conducted after the Jewish Sabbath, which ends Saturday night.
And Russian attacks on Ukraine killed one person and injured dozens overnight as negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and the U.S. are set to meet in Abu Dhabi for a second day of talks aimed at ending the war. The White House called the first day productive and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says a peace deal is nearly ready. They just have to hash out some territorial disputes.
President Trump could announce his pick to replace Jerome Powell as Fed chair as soon as next week. Sources tell Bloomberg the president's finished interviewing candidates, and Rick Reader's position has been bolstered by his Wall Street experience and openness to make changes at the Fed.
Unlike the other three finalists for the job, Reader's never worked at the Federal Reserve and is viewed as not being beholden to the institution, which reportedly grabbed Trump's attention. The Fed, by the way, is expected to hold interest rates steady when it meets next week following a jittery week on Wall Street. The S&P 500 is now riding a two-week losing streak.
The Dow lost about two-thirds percent on Friday. Intel suffered its worst decline in 17 months after Friday's lackluster forecast. Here's Bloomberg's Charlie Pellett.
It's a disappointment for investors who are anticipating more of a boost from new products. Matt Bryson is Managing Director of Equity Research at Wedbush Securities.
You don't know with their guide how much is the disappointment on the top line. Is it their inability to fulfill demand? or is it just demand has dipped?
Intel is struggling with its manufacturing yields, the percentage of usable chips coming out of its factories making it harder to fill orders. Charlie Pellett, Bloomberg Radio.
Circling back to Rick Reeder, his company BlackRock is now cutting the value of one of its private debt funds. We get more on that from Bloomberg's Ed Kalecki.
