But the first sign of trouble, Louis Varland comes in, cleans that one up.
Mentioned Detroit did a little bit of a favor there with an inning where they made three consecutive errors. Miles Straw came up in the clutch. Elsewhere, Cleveland beat the White Sox. So as we've Been looking at the standings and who the Jays are catching and things like that. The notable change here is twofold. One is that the Blue Jays are now chasing the White Sox, not the Guardians. And two is that the Blue Jays do not hold the tiebreaker against the White Sox like they do the Guardians. So uh heading into that series, we had said a sweep in either direction was the best case scenario for the Blue Jays. Uh, the Guardians winning two of three was the worst case scenario. You'd feel better about this had the Blue Jays not dropped two of three to the top.

And as soon as Kazuma Okamoto hit that home run to give them the lead, you're thinking, Okay, like this this series can get off to the start that it should against the Tigers, but Ultimately just didn't happen. Um, and that's that's something that they might look back on and kind of curse themselves for. But um, yeah, it was a it was a much needed win in the finale. And um now they I mean, minimum you gotta take two or three from Texas. Ideally you're sweeping, and ideally you're getting some help from uh elsewhere in the American League.
