About time, you know, kind of just joking with him. But I think everyone was pretty happy, as was he. He was kind of leading the jokes at himself a little bit. But it's nice to see that from him.
And what made Bassett so good today?
I think a good pitch mix and really good location with everything. You know, that's kind of when he's really good. Kept him guessing, kept him off balance. You know, tight spot there in the fifth against Riley and made big pitches. Harris too, really, with second and third. So I think just kind of keeping him in between a little bit. And he had a really good fastball today.
John, our cameras, if you can clarify this, it looked like Chris had convinced you that he would stay, and then all of a sudden our cameras saw you shaking his hand

little bit afterwards. What was the thought process? He was at 90 pitches, I think, at that point.
Yeah, it was a tough one. He initially kind of did. I feel great. I feel good. It was a 30-pitch inning. We got an off day tomorrow, and it's 90 pitches. I think if it was a little bit less stressful, you let him go there. He's coming off the neck thing, which I said we weren't worried about, which we still aren't. I think that last inning kind of made the decision, and it's tough. I just told him, you can hate me right now, but this is good for you and us in the long run. He totally gets it, but that was a tough one because he can go over 100. I didn't think today we needed to.
With Vladdy hitting the, like you said, it was a hang or the slider out, Did the first inning strikeout on the two-pitch slider maybe sort of prime the pump for him to be expecting that there?
