One thing you should never forget as a writer or a publisher is this: The truth sells. Tell the truth, and you could become a bestselling author.Lie, and if you are a politician, your book might still sell—only, of course, to your side of the argument. The other side only likes to hear their own lies, not yours.You might be surprised to know that, even in fiction, you have to tell the truth. If you tell a story that doesn’t ring true, readers will know—and they will not pass on your book to their friends. In fact, they will tell their friends this: Don’t buy that novelist’s books. They don’t tell the truth.In marketing your book as well as in writing it, you have to tell the truth. Tell the truth of the book in its description. Tell the truth in your news releases and interviews. Tell the truth when people ask about your book.
