What is the purpose of the Missed Connections section on Craigslist?
Dr. Laurie Santos from the Happiness Lab here. It's the season of giving, and this year my podcast, the Happiness Lab, is partnering with GiveDirectly, a nonprofit that provides people in extreme poverty with the cash they need as part of the Pods Fight Poverty campaign. Our goal this year is to raise $1 million, which will bring over 700 families out of extreme poverty. Your donation will put cash directly in the hands of these families in need. And they'll get to decide how to use it, whether that's school transportation, purchasing livestock, or starting a business. Plus, if you're a first-time donor, your gift will be matched by giving multiplier, which means more money for those in need. Visit givedirectly.org slash happiness lab to learn more and to donate.

Hi, I'm Radhida Vlukia, and I am the host of A Really Good Cry podcast. This week, I am joined by Anna Runkle, also known as the Crappy Childhood Fairy, a creator, teacher, and guide helping people heal from the lasting emotional wounds of unsafe or chaotic childhoods.
Talking about trauma isn't always great for people. It's not always the best thing. About a third of people who are traumatized as kids feel worse when they talk about it, get very dysregulated.
Listen to A Really Good Cry on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
On the podcast Health Stuff, we are tackling all the health questions that keep you up at night.
I'm Dr. Priyanka Wally, a double board certified physician.
And I'm Hari Kundabolu, a comedian and someone who once Googled, do I have scurvy at 3 a.m.? And on our show, we're talking about health in a different way, like our episode where we look at diabetes.
In the United States, I mean, 50% of Americans are pre-diabetic.
How preventable is type 2?
Extremely. Listen to Health Stuff on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable, but it could save a life. Here's a way to start a conversation. Your family is going over to your neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
Hey!
Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though, may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in your home?
Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that the kids can't access.
Awesome. Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree.org. Brought to you by the Ad Council.
And she said, Johnny, the kids didn't come home last night.
Along the central Texas plains, teens are dying. Suicides that don't make sense. Strange accidents and brutal murders. In what seems to be a plot ripped straight out of Breaking Bad.
Drugs, alcohol, trafficking of people. There are people out there that absolutely know what happened.
Listen to Paper Ghosts, The Texas Teen Murders on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, cutie.
We need eye contact. Missed connections.
That was me staring.
There's only two places to find true love on Halloween. One is in the haunted house when the zombie dentist winks at you with his one dangling eyeball. He's a dentist, though, so he's got something going for you. The other is on the pages of Craigslist.org. We scour that website every week to find the best Miss Connections they have to offer. And since we're kind of in the midst of spooky season, it makes sense a lot of posts lately have had to do with Halloween.
Okay. I was wondering why we were still on this, but that does check out.
Yeah, like this one titled, Witch Please. Man for Woman 34, Spirit Halloween Eastside. It says... You were the enchanting woman in the witch aisle trying on fake eyelashes that look like tarantula legs. I was the guy in cargo shorts who accidentally stepped on your broom and knocked over a rack of dog costumes. You said, it's fine, I have another one in my trunk, which, in hindsight, I now realize could have been the broom or the dog. Either way, I like a woman who's prepared.
