Why do people want change without actually changing anything?

Rachel Castro 0:00
People want change
Beate Chelette 0:01
without any change. Yeah, that's like my thing is that people are great with change as long as you don't change anything. Yeah.
Rachel Castro 0:11
Everyone always says the same thing, just like, I need more revenue or like, I need to do marketing. But what they don't know is like all the work, that they have to fix all of these issues underneath that in order for that to actually work. Regardless if you're getting a lot of, if you're getting more leads coming in, if you can't back it up, then you're just going to really fall short regardless. I had to have a really hard conversation with my client. And they were not happy with what I had to say.
Beate Chelette 0:48
With me today is Rachel Castro from No BS. And Rachel is here because her transformation isn't specifically a spiritual transformation. Her transformation was to get the heck out of corporate. And she had one goal that she shared with me when we first spoke. She wanted to take her mother on a first class ticket to Europe. Welcome to the show, Rachel. I'm so glad you're here.
Rachel Castro 1:14
Oh, thank you so much for inviting me.
Beate Chelette 1:18
So Rachel and I, we go back now, what, a year and a half, two years almost?
Rachel Castro 1:22
It's our two-year anniversary.
Beate Chelette 1:24
It's our
Rachel Castro 1:25
two-year anniversary.
Beate Chelette 1:27
It's our two-year anniversary. And Rachel is a client and not just a client. I think you're actually way more than that. I don't know if I've told you this in these terms, but You've been really an inspiring force because you've been pushing me to do all the things that I've been hesitating to do, but you're so persistent that I have no choice but to really listen to what you are bringing to this conversation in a really, truly collaborative effort. And helping me to push my business forward just as much as I'm helping you to push yours forward. So I want to ask you first. So tell me about or tell our audience who may not know you who you are and what do you do?
Rachel Castro 2:09
Yeah, my name's Rachel. I'm founder of No BS Consulting Firm. What I do is I'm a revenue architect, so I focus majority of my time on additional revenue streams that businesses can bring in and making sure that their operations can fulfill that additional revenue. And
Beate Chelette 2:29
we will go into your system in just a little bit, but before we go there, I want the audience to really understand sort of where you came from. So you participated in one of my masterclasses, and then you had considered to take one of my programs, Turn Your Talent Into a Business. And you said that you knew you were going to have to do something because you had left already at that time. You had already been out there doing a bunch of researches. So tell somebody who may be at the same point now that, than you were two years ago. What did that look like? Where were you?
Rachel Castro 3:07
I was, I worked for corporate for, I want to say like about like 18 years. And what happened was, was I was, I was actually sick and tired of it. I was, I had like a six figure job and I was working so much. And my weekends, all I did was sleep all day and then go back to work. So I never did anything. And I would work with a lot of small business owners and they started actually asking me to help them with their, with consulting with their business. And I didn't even know that was a thing when I first started. And I started Googling it and saying, oh, do people actually get paid for this? I looked it up.

What was Rachel’s first‑class goal for her mom and why did it matter?

Rachel Castro 3:44
I was like, oh, they do. And then I started researching it and then you came up and then you came up on LinkedIn and that's when you had your webinar. And I knew because I kept like asking for signs and praying like, okay, I really need to make a change, but I don't know what I'm going to do. And I really need a coach. And because I didn't want to go in blind because I saw all the businesses that I helped. They all started off with just going in blind and then Years later, their businesses were just like a big whole mess. And I thought for myself that I want to start off the right way so that I never have to go through what I see everyone else going through.
Beate Chelette 4:22
Were you afraid at that time to make the wrong decision?
