Who is Kalani Jordan and what recent victories led to this interview?
Yo, what's going on, Busted Open Nation, and thanks for tuning in to another edition of the Busted Open After Dark podcast. It's me, the OG of AD. It's Uncle Bully sitting down with Kalani. Get it? OG, A D, Uncle Bully, Kalani. I rhymed! Kalani Jordan joins me after a big win over Thea.
Heading into the garden against Jada right here on the After Dark podcast. This is the Busted
Open Podcast. And now I would like to welcome in my advertised guest for the evening. This is her second appearance, I believe, on After Dark with good old Uncle Bully coming off a big win tonight against Thea Hale and going into a massive match at Stand and Deliver at Madison Square Garden against Miss. Miss Parker My guest tonight. Kalani Jordan. First and foremost, thank you for being cool with you were supposed to be my guest for the whole night, but this opportunity with Ricky popped up. It was a big deal. Um
Absolutely.
The feedback on social media has been great by our fans getting hearing Ricky tell stories. But out with the old and in with the new. Exactly. Exactly. I spoke to you a little bit earlier today. And I remember the I'm gonna say the girl. I spoke to a year ago. As opposed to the woman I spoke to today, there's a definitive difference in your demeanor. This is a new Kalani Jordan, a more experienced, a more mature. Am I close on this one?
You're absolutely right. I'm definitely more experienced. I'm definitely more mature. I think also when you talk to the girl, Kalani Jordan, a year ago, I was more of the happy go lucky, happy to be here. Oh, I'm so thankful for this opportunity. And of course, yes, I'm so thankful for but for now, or like now, I feel like I earned it. So it's just like a different mindset, it's a different demeanor. I go out there with tenacity, I go out there with killer instinct, and also my confidence is way different than the girl that you met or you talked to a year ago. Like my confidence is just like expanded and grew so much.
What do you attribu attribute that confidence growth to?
I believe just watching my s like watching my own stuff back, getting feedback from people like you, getting feedback from other people, coaches, mentors, other greats, but also just believing in myself, going out there knowing that hey, I train every day, I work hard and I do have what it takes. I have the talent. Now if everyone else believes in me, now it's time for me to believe in myself.
I'm really happy to hear you say that you're out of that just happy to be here phase because just happy to be here will never cut it.
Yeah.
You have to truly believe in yourself. And when I watched you when I've watched you lately And and I and I've all whenever your name comes up, I always say, Man, Kalani takes a step forward every time I see her out there. No matter what she does, she's getting better and better and better. Even in the midst of a loss, like Lola caught you with the damn spinning backfist the other night. You know, you know listen, if she catches me with the spinning backfist, I'm going down, right? But I even saw your growth in that match in the underground against Lola tonight a definitive victory over Thea Hell. On the horizon at Stand and Deliver is Jada Parker.
Well, uh M S G. Two. At M S.
Gh. I i i is Jada Parker. Correct. Who is a rough woman in her own right.
Mm-hmm.
Where's your m what kind of frame of mind are you in right now going into MSG?
Oh, I'm confident. Like I'm ready for Miss Parker. And one thing that's different between me and Jada is when I fall, I fall forward and I don't just talk the talk. I walk the walk. I like to say I'm the most elite athlete to step foot in the ring. I'm the best crossover athlete and I stand on that. I prove it every time I go in the ring and like you said, even when Lola catches me with the back fist. Guess what? I still showed up and Lola realized, oh, Kalani Jordan is a force to be reckoned with. So that's the difference between the Jada that met me when we wrestled in a feud a f like I don't even know how many months ago. Months back, I'm not the same Kalani Jordan I was last week.
