All right, we were we we played Scorpion's Blackout. I really wanted to play Kiss Mr Speed as the song to start the interview, but I wanted you know, I wanted to put it on a good note for you.

Okay, we all have our pit one thing we can agree on is the greatness of Stone Cold Steve Austin. It's three sixteen day, we're all celebrating. I got my Stone Cold t-shirt on. Like, for us fans, for pro wrestling fans, this is a national holiday. Like for somebody who grew up being a pro wrestling fan, for everything you've done in your career. That people still speak your name, like you're a legend. The gr one of the greatest of all time. How does that make you feel, knowing that fans have such a place in their heart for you?
I I don't know. I mean, yes, it's just I'm uh truly you know, humbled and honored. But you know, like the through sixteen thing. Uh I was telling a guy the other day, it's like you can't just pick up you can't pick out a cool nickname for yourself and say, Hey man, call me this and have this badass nickname. You know, people come up with a nickname and then they they they stick that on you. So the wrestling fans stuck this on me and I'm proud to accept it. So like it's an it's an unofficial, official holiday. uh certainly uh created and you know by by wrestling fans. So I'm truly grateful for it. You know, I got an opportunity to cut a promo, came up with it, and it turned into something. I mean, God dang us.
I don't I don't keep track of the time anymore, but that was over thirty years ago. So the fact that it's still around and still a thing and Uh it's It's it's pretty it's pretty awesome.
You know, Steve, you talked about you got an opportunity to cut a promo. And uh w we use you as a reference a lot here on the show, not to blow smoke up your ass, but you're you're the barometer. You're you're the measuring stick for certain things when it comes to organic moments like the promo or the crimson mask or or the pop. Uh When we talk when we watch modern wrestling, we always wonder, is there gonna be an opportunity for another Austin 316 moment? Like, just we've heard the story before, but just take us back. Like that literally just kind of popped into your head on the spot at the last minute, right?
