WWE champion Cody Rhodes? Well, before we go any farther, I just want to give the nation a heads up that sometime this morning when we feel the time is right. I'm bringing back The good, the bad and the ugly segment. Фор The Cody versus Drew match. There is so much to get into. Um, from the obvious to the not so obvious, that I'd love to discuss with you. As far as the match is concerned, it's hard for me to get into anything right now without stooging off um what I want to talk about later. But I will say this. But as far as a television main event is concerned. Mission accomplished. And how do you know the mission was accomplished, Dave? Did you happen to see and or listen to the people when Cody won the championship? You know what, Dave? I'm not gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna answer for you. Because I know you saw the reaction of the people and I know you heard the reaction of the people because you picked up the phone and you called Denise Salcedo.

Yeah, I I think if you watch the match, how the fans were behind Cody and then the pop that Cody got when the match was over, you can understand how the Cody experiment is working. And listen, when it comes to babyface champions or heel champions, or any champion at all. You're gonna have backlash. So I don't think it's deserved with Cody and I have facts to prove my point. But If you remember, and I know you do bully, 'cause we had the discussion a million times, and Doug and I had the discussion a million times, when John Cena was on top, and John Cena was on top for a very long time. So I understand fatigue setting in with fans when there's a certain person on top of the card. But there's a reason why.
And when John Cena was on top, there were fans, a pocket of fans that were upset. They wanted to see John Cena turn heel. They wanted to see John Cena drop the championship. They didn't want to see him on top of the card. And there's and I understand that. And it's the same case with Cody. And we'll take those phone calls and we'll listen to it. And everybody's entitled to their opinion. But bully. Why was John Cena on top for as long as John Cena was on top in the WWE? Because
he was a draw. Exactly. And and everything that comes with being a draw, whether that's putting asses in seats, people buying merchandise, make a wish, you name it, everything that comes with the territory of being a top guy or the top guy in the WWE. Now Cena has.
had that. W for for better or for worse, the likes or dislikes and you know, obviously social media isn't what it was then at that time.
