Chapter 1: What are the main highlights of RAW after WrestleMania 42?
Welcome to the Busted Open Podcast. This is Dave LaGreca. On today's episode, myself, Bully, and Nick Nemetok, Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, Cody, and Punk. We break it all down right here on the Busted Open Podcast. This is the Busted Open Podcast. We talked about could you have Oba Femi jump right in and have a program with Roman Reigns.
And could Jacob Fatu be a World Heavyweight Champion? Well, it looks like they're going to wait a little bit for Obafemi, and it looks like they're going to jump in to have a program with Jacob Fatu and Roman right off the bat. So, Nick, let me ask you, what did you think of the end of Monday Night Raw, and what did you think of that little face-off between Jacob and Roman last night?
I felt the full extent of it. It's Roman walking to the ring and then stopping mid-gorilla to be like, hey, come on, guys. Organically bringing the cousins to the ring. So thinking that, I was like, okay, cool. Where are they going with this? The face-off, I thought it was good and the crowd was into it. And I know there's this long story here. I just thought it could have ended...
bigger somehow. And I, I, I like where they're going. I like where the all gas, no brakes.
Chapter 2: What were the key moments from the Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns confrontation?
You're going right, right into Roman. If he says so next week, at least there's a little bit of a cliffhanger. There's a piece there. I just thought there could be something other than just being hungry for that championship. I think there was one more step to go. You don't need a crazy return out of nowhere. We don't need violence.
There needed to be one more other than like, not just, I want that championship. I need that championship. There was one more piece there. Because the bloodline things always seem to be so much more serious and engulfed and thrillered and mystery that you like to listen to. And there's something bigger there, I think.
Nick, I asked Mark and Tommy yesterday whether or not they thought Jacob Fatu could become world heavyweight champion. If there was that much to him, if creative really saw it in him. So I'm going to ask you, do you think he can? And if the answer is yes, would he be a transitional champion? Or would he be a guy that they would consciously put the strap on and run with?
those are two great questions. Yeah, it's one thing to say, hey, can this guy be world champion one day? Yeah. Someone like LA Knight, I'm really into him. I'm a fan. The people are behind him. Can he be champ? Yeah. It could happen, but I just at this point doesn't feel like the company would fully be behind it.
So it wouldn't be, I don't know if it'd be transitional, but it just wouldn't be like, this is a, we're giving it out to someone who just got it because they worked hard and we like them. And then it's going to something else, which they have fought to. Can he be? Absolutely. There's so much time to go, but, uh, already quickly, uh, when it's one of those, what's like a Bron breaker situation, uh,
or a Leon Slater where they're picking it up so quick that these can be those handful that sneak through and break that glass up. They don't have to wait until they're a certain age. They can just get out there and go.
Bully, did it look like Jacob Fatu belonged in the same ring with Roman?
Because of the past history, yes. I like what Jacob said, but I still, I loved Jacob and Drew from WrestleMania from night one. It was my match of the night and I know why from a physicality point of view. I love Jacob Fatu. I don't know if I was feeling it as much as I would like to have felt it. And if I'm saying that this morning, that means he didn't grab me by the throat. It's good.
It's there. But it needs to... Dolph says he can't put his finger on it. Nick said he can't put his finger on it. But there was something more that he would have liked to have heard. He might have wanted to hear certain words. I wanted to feel a certain more tone. I wanted to feel something a little bit more intense.

Chapter 3: Can Jacob Fatu become a World Heavyweight Champion?
I need that. And I need the answer now or I take it from you. Something like that. And you still get to look and to walk away and to go, oh, okay. At least there's something more to it other than there's like, hey, I want all this. I'll let you know. I'm out.
Yeah. You know what, Bully? What Nick said makes sense. Like if you're going to get the answer next week. Should have been flip-flopped. Yeah. Yeah.
If Roman would have came back after everything that Jacob said, and Roman would have came back and said, I'm going to need your answer next week, Jacob could have said, I already gave you my answer. Were you not listening? I just told you every reason why I need to face you and face you now. So it's you who need to give me the answer, Oos.
And then Roman says, nobody tells me when and where to give an answer. I'll let you know next week.
Yeah, because I got out of that like when that show was over, it wasn't like for me, oh, man, I can't wait for next week because I'm going to find out the answer of Jacob Fatu, whether he's going to wrestle Roman. I already know that answer. So to me, it's just like we're waiting another week just to hear what we had already said. I like that. Do the flip.
That makes a lot more sense than what they did last night. Let's see if they're able to do that. But that makes me worried, too, because, Bully, you asked the question. You asked me specifically, do you see Jacob Fatu as a world champion? And I said yes.
But if you're going to give Jacob Fatu to Roman Reigns in the first match after winning the championship, I find it hard to believe that Jacob Fatu has a chance of beating Roman Reigns at Backlash. And that's the other thing, too. Jacob even mentioned, I want you at Backlash. So I can't see Jacob Fatu coming out of Backlash as your World Heavyweight Champion.
I mean, Roman did say he's going to be around all summer, which if you kind of read between the lines, I would think that. And Nick, tell me if you agree or disagree. I'm going to be around all summer means when summer's over, I'm out of here, folks.
Yeah, yeah.

Chapter 4: What did the hosts think of the ending of RAW?
And maybe I shouldn't have been. But I was a little surprised because we saw the negative reaction that the Vegas crowd had for Cody Rhodes in the match with Randy Orton. But it seemed like a much more positive reaction for Cody last night on Monday Night Raw. And here he is with CM Punk, one of the most beloved wrestlers
wrestlers in the wwe is there a reason for it and it doesn't have anything go ahead go ahead i think the fans have just moved on and back to their love and appreciation for cody there are a lot of people there that were randy fans who would have loved to have seen Randy win his 15th championship. And maybe it wasn't necessarily about Randy winning his 15th championship.
Maybe the people in Vegas just wanted to see a title change for a World Heavyweight Championship. That's why they were on Randy's side. But yes, the welcome for Cody last night was a lot better because now everybody is back. Things are back to normal, I guess, because Cody's past WrestleMania, past all the BS that came with the match with Randy, and now he's back on track. Plus, look at his eye.
Yeah, and that's what I wanted to ask you.
It's kind of hot. Yeah.
It's kind of hard, okay? Remember, when was the moment in time that the WWE Universe fell in love with Cody Rhodes? It's at Hell in a Cell when he takes off the robe. to reveal the torn pec, the torn bicep, the torn your sister's ass, and just gross black and blue, encompassing all of his upper pec area and his bicep, and him still willing to come out there and fight.
Last night, Cody's eye is a black and blue, blood-bludgeoned mess. If you saw, he looked considerably better last night than he looked the day before. At least he could have his eye open. It's hard to boo that guy. It's hard to boo a guy who comes out on Monday Night Raw with that kind of black eye and go, ah, no, screw you, we don't like you.
At the end of the day, I could sit here and I could talk to you about the suits or whatever or the five-syllable words. Cody's a fucking warrior. End of story. You're always going to have a level of respect for that. And that's why I think we got a better reaction. And when it comes to last night, I loved the beauty of the simplicity.
And I think they could have even gotten simpler with the segment. But basically it's this. Punk said, yep. I lost. Sometimes it's going to happen. But I'm going to keep on trucking along because you never know what could happen in the WWE universe. And one day, I might have an opportunity dropped in my lap again. It's almost as if he said that because he knew Cody would take the bait.
