so roman did a great interview with complex again it's a big pop culture site getting ready for the premiere of street fighter but he also did talk about his day job which is you know being your world heavyweight champion for the wwe and a lot of people think you know roman may be transitioning and this is something that he said about He was asked about all the different WWE superstars that went on to acting and them transitioning into something different and about the responsibility about going out. And he said, I do think with where I'm at, there is a responsibility to try to tap into the future. Give them time to tap into my experience and my mindset and what makes me tick and what allows me to be successful.
And he mentioned about The Undertaker. He goes, The Undertaker did that for him. And he goes, The Undertaker, before the bus system came around, he was always in the locker room. So he was able to have that godfather effect. He goes, I'm not just in the middle of all the talent anymore. So these guys can't really use me as the resource like he was able to do for The Undertaker. He goes, it's one thing to have a match with me. It's another to be the guy that we're working towards to transition from me or to use me as equity to put the rocket on their back. If you're in the ring with me, your value goes up. It sounds arrogant, but I don't mean it that way. I just mean that if you get in the ring with me, you're going to get the very best of Roman Reigns.

Yeah, I really – I know I'm a weirdo, but I think if I was in this position, I don't think I would have done the bus no matter what. But that's me, and it's for everyone. We are very lucky as pro wrestlers to have this option. uh the before covid it was five days a week and and you know you had to be there whether you were the cena or the uh dark match that starts you were there every week and then whether you traveled with someone and whether you rode with them and got the knowledge like i was very lucky i got to ride tommy dreamer edge christian kane so eventually zach rider but those guys were a older than me and had been around and they're veterans and you get to learn in the car. And that's a real thing.
You learn a ton of the business in the car from those guys. And I also, and then I would be like, Oh, I'm wrestling Kane all this entire loop, or I'm wrestling edge in the main event of these live events.
How does the new “bus system” affect talent development and locker‑room dynamics?
Like, what are you crazy? So I'm learning in the car and I'm learning in the ring. And then now I become the guy who can pass that down to someone else. When you have the bus system, and even just if you're not doing the buses, but you just have the one or two days a week, you don't have that camaraderie, which it's kind of great because it's a blessing and a curse. You're losing a little bit of the passing down of the knowledge, but it's pro wrestling.
