Cyclocross Social Podcast with David Haverdings: His strong season after recovering from anorexia (episode 55)

14 Jan 2022

Description

The cyclocross social podcast is back for the 2021-22 season! Today Noah is joined by David Haverdings to talk about his great season after having anorexia, and what he expects at the worldchampionships! It’s just before the start of the 2020/21 cyclocross season when David begins to feel unwell. He is very tired most of the time and doesn’t feel strong anymore on training. Its something he didn’t expect, because prior to the season he dropped a lot of weight to be in the best condition possible when the season began. However, in his ambition to be as good as possible at the start of the season, he had gone to far. He lost 20kg and was only weighing 50kg, he had anorexia. He took time off the bike and fully recovered. This year it showed as he won 14/17 races this season. This makes Haverdings the top favorite for the world championships. In the podcast Haverdings talks about it all, getting anorexia, starting this season, winning races, the European championships, and the worldchampionships. He expects it to be a close race, with multiple riders challenging him for the win.  Listen to this, and much more, in this episode of the cyclocross social podcast!
