And the significant thing about this story is amongst those non-playing players was Rico. Now, Rico was added to the training squad, but he wasn't officially added to the All Blacks.
So I'm just adding that in as we now select our 10 players to be added to the 34. The 34 originally selected, Dave Rennie-Marx says that all of those guys, injury permitting, are going to South Africa. There's no one's played their way out. There were four non-playing players who were unavailable through injury, Scott Barrett and Tamaiti. Both of those guys are out. Leicester and Fabian Holland, I think both come back in. So if you're talking about 10 players, I think we could all probably say that those two, Leicester and injury permitting again, and Fabian come back in, right? Yeah. So now we're looking at another eight names to be added on Monday. And we want to debate this long and large. Tom will put up who our suggestions are, and then you leave us a comment afterwards.
I'll give you mine to start with, and then you can... Slap me and tell me how stupid I am. But I'm going for another prop, and I think it's Ollie Norris, or it could be Offa, but I think it's one of those guys. I'm going for another hooker, George Bell. I'm going for the locks, and I've got Holland and Hannah, because I think we're going to need those guys. I think the attrition rate for those guys, we need aerial power, and we could add another 10 of those guys. And the loose forwards... Man, look, I've got Karifi written down here. I've got Leicester written as a potential loose forward. And I've got Blackadder or Casey. So I can't really decide. First halfback, I think we have to add another halfback just in case we lose one.
If we take three over there and we're down to two, we're in trouble. First five. I'm adding Amal Wanga, and I just think New Zealand rugby, just wake up to the cause, mate, and just put the guy in the bloody team. Don't break the rules, Marty, that we made. And then I've got Rico Tavatava-Nawai. So those are the names that I've got. Pick 10 out of that, but I won't be surprised if any of them make it. Mark, it's up to you now. You're a selector.
Yeah, fascinating one. Just going back to whether you take another first five or not, to me, I mean, if they're absolutely adamant that Richie Mouang is not going to be involved, then to me, you take a Taha Kamara because I think you need to start building some depth below it. And you're only going to use him, obviously, in the midweek games if he becomes a bit of a dirt tracker. i don't think they will i think they'll be not quietly hoping but i think the moment there is an injury they will rush mawanga and he would have played his two games of mbc and he'll be on the next bloody plane so i don't think they will add an extra first five eight to it i think if there is injury mawanga is their guy uh interesting i wonder again i'm not sure around injuries but young josh fussy tour who plays for the blues who can play both sides of the scrums always had big raps on him he is a player that i would add to my list
