I know the spring box weren't at full strength, but this was still a test match, and I think that's a commendable performance by Les Kiss's men.
Yeah, I think it's really important to start off by acknowledging the fact that the Wallabies came into this game with some understandable confidence given their results since Les Kiss took over. Uh, but at the same time coming up against the Springboks side that just won a series uh against the All Blacks and we knew full well that this that Rassy Rasmus was gonna make all these changes and you talked about the depth there and we talked about this last week, about how this was kind of like proof of concept as to the the talk about the depth and yeah, yeah, oh yeah, we can put out all these sides and everything. It's like, okay, great. The side you put they put out was fantastic on paper, one through fifteen.
And then all the talk about the bench as well as their as their fail safe. There was what, five hundred caps in there and I don't think anyone's gonna argue that any of those Springboks starters didn't deserve to be there. But they hadn't played together. At all. Yeah. And this is the issue with saying you've got all these players. You still actually need to get them together and playing test rugby on a regular basis. And all you've got to do is look at the lead in to the series against the All Blacks. They had that very clunky game against the Pumas and then they lost that test at Alice Park.
