Lots of time at temple Watched Spinal Tap with the kids 3D Print commission, obdurator disks for MadMikes 81mm Mortar Septic issue resolved. New drain field dug.   Oddball: 9mm AR pistol featuring a Stern Defense mag adapter Installed new motherboard, CPU, and RAM in gaming rig   Weerd:   Drink Segment:   Vemont Ice Gin George Dickel 8-year Bourbon  Adjusted Cosmopolitan Food Segment: Aioli Garden Watermelon Rosh Hashannah Challah   Main Topic: Rebuilding Entries   —------------ Listener Myles:   Hi Ryan,   As for my budget rebuild this would be my start.   Building on a budget   Ruger redhawk 4.2” $1399 Ruger mkiv 22/45 $449 Canik mc9 prime $619 optic $300 upgrade from mc9 Canik rival dark side with optic $849 Beretta bobcat $549   Total about $3800 so a little ammo to go with it along with holsters.   —-------------------------------------------------------    Listener Phil:   Hello from the beautiful southwest!   So, I’ve lost my precious gun collection but got $5,000USD to replace it.  I go to Buds and find an MR-73 with 4” barrel, $3995.   Thank you for your time, you’ve been great, goodnight everybody!   Well we like options so depending on wind direction, etc maybe this-   Buds again and buy a Colt Commander and a Defender. $900 each. Swap slides and keep the CCO and sell the other one on Gunbroker for about $650.  Buy a S&W .357 4” (19,65 whatever) about $850.    Buy a S&W big bore snub (625,629 whatever) about $900.   So, I'm at $2,150 and GunBroker has the S&W 4506 available for about $1,300 for my hipster want.   Then back to Buds to wrap things up with a S&W Bodyguard 2.0 and a S&W 642 for all my pocket carry needs.  $400 and $450, they zero me out.   But really, if I have nothing but $5K in my hand? MR-73 and all the ammo and cool ass holsters I can think up seems pretty irresistible.   —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Listener R:   Ruger Mark IV 22/45 .22LR 4.4" 10rd Pistol, Black - 40190 $330 on buds   TAURUS TX22 $235 on guns.com   S&W Model 460 XVR 8.38" .460 S&W Revolver $1130 on GunBroker   THE NEW THOMPSON CENTER STAINLESS ENCORE/PROHUNTER PISTOL FRAME ONLY $400 on hausofarms   Rost Martin RM1C Black 9mm 4" Barrel 15-Rounds Package $450 grab gun   Hi-Point JXP-10 10mm Pistol 5.2" Threaded Barrel 10rd, Black - JXP10 $166 buds gun shop   $350 ish see some cheaper on buds but all I have had is rock Island tisas girsan that have worked never tried Taylor's and Co or GeForce    $500 for supperssor and maybe a frt for the tx22 ordered one but haven't got yet to see how it is.   Heritage rough rider have seen around $100   Ria m200 38 SPL for $200   Chiappa Rhino 30DS Black 357 Magnum Revolver $850 on buds   Gp100 in 327 federal bought one on auction for just under $500   $5211 total so could drop one cheap one or cheap out on a suppressor and drop the frt    =======================================================   Listener Brett: $5k challenge    https://aimsurplus.com/products/leo-trade-in-glock-19-gen-4-9mm-handgun $400 Glock 19 , I would pay to have slide cut for optic and mount a Holosun - this would replace the gun I have used in matches for years   I would absolutely have a 357/38 spec revolver with a 3”-4” barrel . I would scour the used market for an older S&W , GP-100 - but this deal is hard to beat  https://palmettostatearmory.com/smith-wesson-model-686-357-magnum-4-stainless-barrel-revolver-164222.html $630 S&W 686 4”  Same for 44 mag revolver with 4”-6” barrel - I would buy a used older model 29/629 but push come to shove - I love the Mtn Gun below  https://www.guns.com/firearms/p/smith-wesson-629-mountain-gun?i=483422 $1220 S&W 629 Mtn Gun 44 mag 4”    https://palmettostatearmory.com/ruger-mark-iv-22-45-22lr-4-4-10rd-pistol-black-40190.html $430. Ruger MK4 22LR Threaded optic ready    https://palmettostatearmory.com/ruger-max-9-semi-auto-optic-ready-9mm-12rd-pistol-black-3514.html $240 Ruger MAX9mm Sub compact pocket gun    For my 45 ACP needs - I would scout patiently for a really nice used Sig P220 / HKUSP/1911  in the$400- $600 or just grab a trade in . The 9mm craze has created some nice opportunities for “other” semi auto calibers at really good deals on the used market - but to make sure i have an entry for this and the slot filled - see link  https://www.guns.com/used-guns/p/sig-sauer-p220-le-trade-in?i=544772 $410 P220 45ACP LEO trade in    I would have a “match” gun of some sort  A PCC in 9mm with brace - a large format pistol  https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ak-v-9mm-moe-sba3-pistol-odg.html $800 AK 9mm pistol that uses readily available CZ scorpion mags    https://eaacorp.com/product/eaa-girsan-mc1911-s-hunter-10mm/ $740  10mm 1911 long slide hunter    This should put me at $4870 ====================================================   Listener Chuck:   I think we all, if we've been at this for any great length of time, probably have a gun accumulation/"collection"  that reflects changing interests and tastes over time.  In other words, a bunch of safe queens we probably wouldn't buy again.  I do think about this sometimes, if I had it to do over again, what would I do now?   So, Wife and I and the dog come back from some where and find that the house has burned to the ground.  Total loss.  What to replace, what to get?   1) Replace the carry gun ASAP.  In this case a .38 snub.  One guy here usually has a Taurus 856 in his display.  $340 last I looked.  Order a basic AIWB holster (Galco Stow-n-go) and a couple Safariland speedloaders from Midway.  It'll probably be here by the time the gun is out of our state's gun purgatory.  Go to the farm store and pick up some .38 Special.  Maybe $100 all told on the Midway order and the ammo.  Order out some proper social purposes ammo.  So, ~$500 total.   2) A spare.  If I got a 3" gun in step 1, get a snub, and a pocket holster.   And Vice-versa.   Add my preferred kydex AIWB holster, say another $75(ish).   $425-ish total on this.   3) Glock 26.  Gen 3 to 5, doesn't matter.  The other carry gun I sometimes carry.  Midway has them for $539 at this instant.  Get enough extra mags to fill out $600 total.  Holster for same, say another $50.  Mag carrier from Magholder, $27.   Stuff  adds up fast.  We're up to $1600, guns plus necessary supplies.   Basic needs are met, so we can look at other things.   4) Glock 19 (again, Gen 3 and up, doesn't matter), or possibly Ruger's new clone of it.  Plus a fistfull of magazines (which are also usable in the G26), and a decent holster.  Gun (gen3) is $499 on Midway.  Holster and mags get you up to about $600.   5) .22 plinker.  Lets say, Ruger Super Wrangler, $279.  Why this, and not a automatic?  I can shoot CB caps.   6) a "Tree-fiddy-seven" to replace the 19-4 lost in the fire. Oh, boy.  Set aside $700, and keep an eye on the used case.   7) not a handgun -- Rossi R92 lever action in .357, to go with the .357 wheelgun.  ~$800, last I looked.   8) Replace reloading equipment.  Lee turret press, die set, etc. Figure (guessing) ~$500, plus consumables.   I think we're up to about four grand with all this.  Depending on what's actually left...   9) I might add a deep concealment pocket .380 class gun that's not an LCP.  Glock 42 or Kahr, plus DeSantis Nemesis holster and enough ammo to prove the gun.   ==========================================================   Longtime Listener Rick C (Who we havent ever got an entry from, but big shout out to ALL the longtime listeners!)     Hi Ryan and all,   I submitted the original suggestion for this topic to Ryan on youtube.   I've been shooting recreationally for 45 years.  My current small collection is a mix of inherited pieces and stuff randomly bought over the years with no real plan.     If I was rebuilding fresh with $5000 now I'd get:   (all new, current models, Gunbroker prices)   Sig P365 9mm                                           $500 Glock 19                                                     $550 LCP Max (two of them)                               $280x2 S&W model 19 Classic .357                        $825 Colt 1911 .
